A. Vogel Venagel (Formaly Aesculus Gel)

Contains fresh extract of Horse Chestnut. Also known as Aesculus hippocastanum and the extracts come from the deciduous tree. The main active ingredients are triterpene saponins or escin (aescin).

Contains fresh extract of Horse Chestnut. Made from the fresh seeds of the Horse Chestnut Tree. Aesculus has been used for venous conditions since the end of the 19th century. It is a tall tree characterised by large, sticky buds and a seed which will be instantly recognisable to many children who spend their autumn afternoons seeking out the biggest and best conkers to thread onto a piece of string.

The origin of the family name Aesculus is unclear. The species name, hippocastanum, literally means horse chestnut. This term probably arose from the early use of the seed to treat coughing and broken wind in horses, distinguishing it from the chestnuts eaten by humans.

Prepared from organically cultivated or wild herbs in Switzerland. Fresh herbs, harvested at their prime, are used to prepare the tinctures. No pesticides, insecticides, fungicides or chemical fertilisers are used.

Ingredients: Aqua, Alcohol, Aesculus hippocastanum, Hydroxypropyl Methyl-cellulose, Polyglyceryl-4 caprate, Glycerin.

Nutritional: This gel contains the extract of Aesculus hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) seeds.

Directions: Apply sparingly and massage gently into skin 2 to 3 times daily. Apply gently to veins with an upwards motion, morning and evening. Do not massage as this may cause inflammation. Longer term use is advisable for best results.

Health Warnings: Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Wash hand thoroughly after use. Do not apply to broken or inflamed skin. For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if taking anticoagulants such as Warfarin.
