A. Vogel Bio-Propolis Ointment

A clinically proven cold sore treatment made from purified propolis extract from Canadian popular trees. It contains a specific spectrum of active ingredients, termed ACF - active Complex of Flavonoids. Propolis has been used as a medicine for more than 2000 years. It consists of the plant exudates that honeybees collect and take to the hive, where other bees mix them with beeswax to make an antiseptic sealant for the crevices in the hive. Propolis is also used to make the surfaces smooth and to reduce the size of the hive's entrance so that invaders find it harder to get in. Propolis is the bees' antiseptic, reducing the growth of bacteria, viruses and moulds inside the hive. It is also used to embalm dead invaders, so that their bodies cannot spread infection.

Ingredients: Ointment containing 3% Purfied Propolis Extract ACF, vaseline, liquid paraffin, lonolin and ethanol.

Directions: Apply to the affected area 5 times a day

Health Warnings: Do no use if allergic to propolis or other bee products. Propolis may cause skin irritation in some people. Discontinue to use if rash appears. Avoid contact with eyes. For external use only. Not suitable for children under 12 unless on the advice of a healthcare professional. Recurrent cold sores may indicate a compromised immune function and should be referred to a healthcare professional.
